The Sumiko RS Amethyst is the top replacement stylus in the interchangeable Rainier family. Its nude line-contact diamond and low-mass cantilever recover fine groove information with lower tracing distortion and better high-frequency extension than the bonded elliptical alternatives.
Compared with the less expensive RS Moonstone, RS Amethyst provides a much larger contact area, improved inner-groove performance and more precise retrieval of ambience and image depth. It can upgrade any compatible body, although the dedicated Amethyst generator is required to realize its full performance.
