The Aurender MC20 combines a rubidium-based 10 MHz master clock with two discrete OCXO word-clock generators. It provides four 10 MHz outputs together with independent 44.1 kHz- and 48 kHz-family word-clock outputs, allowing multiple compatible digital components to reference the same timing source. The design is intended for systems where the music server, DAC and associated digital hardware can all accept external clock signals.
Compared with the simpler MC10, the MC20 adds the word-clock functionality needed by a smaller group of reference DACs and professional-style digital interfaces. Its role is precise system synchronization: reducing timing differences between components and allowing an Aurender transport and compatible DAC to operate from a common reference. It is most relevant in carefully configured digital systems where external clocking is already supported throughout the chain.
