The Ref-S uses Benz Micro’s low-impedance iron-cross generator in a vented myrtle-wood body. Its 0.28 mm solid boron cantilever and nude line-contact diamond make it particularly suitable for high-gain, transimpedance and step-up-transformer systems.
Output is 0.26 mV at 3.54 cm/s with 3.5-ohm internal impedance. Sierra Sound recommends 50–47,000 ohms loading, 1.7–2.2 g tracking force and a medium- to high-mass tonearm.
