MC257 Power Amplifier

in-stock

The McIntosh MC257 is a seven-channel solid-state power amplifier for systems that need substantial output across a complete surround layout. It supplies 250 watts to each of the three front channels when those channels are used alone, or 200 watts to each of seven channels with all channels operating.

Dynamic Power Manager maintains the stated output across 4- and 8-ohm loudspeakers, and the TripleView meter displays the three front-channel outputs together. Seven balanced and seven unbalanced inputs, two-zone capability, Power Guard, and Sentry Monitor support both theater and distributed-system configurations.

Three Important Features

  • Seven-channel architecture: One chassis powers a complete surround system.
  • TripleView meter: The three principal channel outputs are shown on one front-panel display.
  • Two-zone capability: Five channels can serve one zone while two channels serve a second zone.

Three Important Specifications

  • Power output: 250 watts x 3 front channels, or 200 watts x 7 channels, into 4 or 8 ohms.
  • Total harmonic distortion: 0.005%.
  • Frequency response: +0/-0.25dB from 20Hz to 20kHz; +0/-3dB from 10Hz to 100kHz.
