The Technics SB-G90M2 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker that advances the company’s longstanding pursuit of point-source coherence and linear-phase reproduction. A newly developed coaxial driver anchors the design, pairing a 25 mm dome tweeter with a 160 mm midrange cone, while two additional 160 mm woofers handle the bass. The result is a speaker engineered to deliver precise stereo imaging and a stable soundstage across a wide listening area.
Technics addresses mechanical integrity through its Balanced Driver Mounting Architecture, which routes unwanted vibrational energy away from the drivers and into the heavily braced cabinet. Inside the enclosure, a patented standing-wave termination structure uses a tuned sound path and minimal absorption material to suppress resonant peaks without draining midrange liveliness. The Linear Phase Plug and shallow-profile Smooth Flow Diaphragm further refine high-frequency dispersion and transient accuracy. Bi-wiring terminals allow separate amplifier connections for the woofer and mid/high sections, reducing intermodulation between drivers. With a frequency range extending from 33 Hz to 90 kHz, the SB-G90M2 is built to resolve both the weight of a large-scale orchestra and the fine textural cues of an intimate vocal performance.
