A curved, upward-pitched top plate reduces diffraction and breaks up standing waves inside the cabinet. The 28 mm diamond-coated beryllium tweeter runs on a neodymium motor with a new back chamber. Below it are a 5-inch midrange with an aluminum-honeycomb-core cone and two 9-inch bass drivers with 5-inch titanium voice coils. The cabinet stands on an outrigger base.

The Absolute Sound's Jonathan Valin named the S3 a 2024 Golden Ear pick. He wrote that he had never heard a small floorstanding cone speaker do as much for the money, and that it holds its own against designs costing twice as much. At 88 dB and 4 Ω, with a recommended minimum of 50 W, the S3 works with a wide range of capable amplifiers.
