As the 260DT it is a pure transport with AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs for an external DAC, including MQA-CD pass-through to an MQA-capable converter. As the 260D it adds a true 32-bit asynchronous DAC with upsampling, MOON's oversized power supplies and analog output stage, and three digital inputs (two S/PDIF, one optical) so it also serves as the system's DAC. The DAC board can be added to a 260DT later.

The 260D suits anyone with a CD collection and a MOON integrated such as the 250i v2 or 341, where SimLink lets the amplifier and transport switch on together.
