Its two output rails are separate and self-regulating: one feeds the motor and the FPGA-managed control unit, the other feeds a Urika or Urika II phono stage inside the plinth, so a sudden demand on one cannot disturb the other. The brushed DC motor, with its small, low-noise components, sits in an acoustic housing that decouples it from the deck, and the controller reads a tachometer under the platter to check and correct speed on every rotation, sustaining what Linn describes as rotation closer to 33⅓ rpm than any turntable.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin:0 0 12px\"\u003eThe chassis is machined from three pieces of solid aluminum and weighs close to 14 kg, standing on high-mass stainless-steel feet with rubber ring inserts; Linn's purpose is electrical and mechanical isolation of the supply from the room. A status roundel on the front has brightness switches at the back, and an enhanced mode applies a −25 dB soft mute to the phono stage while the deck starts and stops. The lineage is worth knowing: Art Dudley called the first Radikal of 2009 \"revelatory: the most significant step I've heard in the LP12's evolution,\" and Ed Selley's 2026 review of the Klimax LP12 for The Ear, with this Radikal fitted, called the deck \"a breathtakingly capable bit of kit.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin:0 0 20px\"\u003eThe Klimax Radikal is the top of Linn's LP12 power supplies, above the Lingo and the Radikal (Standard), and it is fitted to every Klimax LP12. For an existing Selekt or an older Klimax it is the largest single upgrade on Linn's path, and Linn also lists a Utopik upgrade for the 2021 machined Radikal and a performance upgrade with the latest control unit for earlier Radikals.
